Foraging Workshop
I’ve been drawn to reconnect with nature since the latter half of 2023. It started with the need for my dog to go on her walks and my toddler going to nursery. So I’ve been going on different walks and of course, it eventually happened foraging piqued my interest. It’s a natural progression isn’t it? You start to go on walks out of necessity i.e. walking the dog then you get bored and try different parks and routes to spice things up then you discover that there’s so much places to discover and you add different elements to it like I do - photography then you want to learn more because admiring it isn’t enough, you want to learn more about it. The progression is quite normal, isn’t it? not just me.
I’m thankful for the algorithm for showing me an ad for foraging, I’ve always found mushrooms aesthetically pleasing, it’s so beautiful and so interesting but it’s quite intimidating to get into because there are so many variations and quite dangerous to just pick something up without knowing if it’s dangerous or not.
I’m really pleased that I’ve signed myself up to try the 2-hour taster foraging workshop by Forage Box , it has opened my eyes to what is available to us without even realising. It also made me think more about the ethical side of sourcing our food and the impact of our consumption. I knew there’s something that has to change because this modern world is surely not sustainable which we are already experiencing the consequences of.
There’s so much to learn and unlearn.
